Two loud, bossy, middle-aged crones: LOUD DISCUSSION ON THEIR PREFERRED HAIR LENGTHS, BOTH IN GENERAL AND ON COWORKER IN PARTICULAR.
I haven't dyed my hair in, like, a year - this is an incredible thing for me - and I can honestly say, while I miss having blue hair, I do not miss the monthly inane conversations like this.
Is every job like this? Isn't there anywhere I could work that doesn't have these people?
lol, I love conversations like this. there is so much shitty stuff going on everywhere, these little snippets totally make a difference :)
ReplyDeleteThat's true, and I would definitely rather hear these conversations than the sound of my coworker eating Cracker Jack with her mouth open all day. Which is the other option.

ReplyDeleteHa ha! I ask myself this same question all of the time. Which is why I bring headphones to work, and when I start to feel like I'm going to stab myself in the head, I put the headphones in and everything is better.
ReplyDeleteI have come to the conclusion that these people are everywhere. I have worked with so many different kinds of people, and I always end up feeling the same way about at least a couple of them.
I daydream about working in charities, and I imagine the people there would be kind and they would make good friends. They wouldn't interrupt me while I was talking to text on their phones. But then I realize... I think that I am wrong.
But I still daydream about a place where everyone is kind and we all want the best for one another, and we are gentle and aware of the fact that the things we say affect the people around us, and no one spends a conversations with someone, half-listening, because they're also playing angry birds on their stupid phone.
