Hey, here's a cool thing: I did an interview with the lovely Cassie over at [Witty Title Here] about my experiences as a foster parent.
I tried to keep my answers short, but dang, that was tough! Cassie asked really awesome, thought-provoking questions and I really liked working with her. You should go ahead and bookmark her blog, because it's really brimming with delightful things. Oh, and to my regular readers (all three of you): In the interview, I referred to our foster daughter by her first initial, M, and am going to go ahead and start doing that here. I think that'll help differentiate her from the new kid I'm growing and feels a little more personal than "the baby," which I've been using for over a year.
If you found your way here because of the interview, welcome! Sometimes I cuss a lot. I used to write about really hard-hitting topics like my opinions on custard donuts and why camping is stupid, but now I mostly write about foster parenting and being pregnant, because I don't have the energy to even think about other things. I really like getting comments and I post less often than I wish I did. The end.

On the internet and anonymity
How many of you dudes are bloggers? Do you separate your real life from your blog life?
I have told a total of three people about this blog: Andy, my sister, and a friend who lives in a different city and who I'm 90% sure doesn't read it. Andy's fine with being blogged about but doesn't read this thing, and I think the Kid said she was okay with what I had put on here about her and Brian, but I never know. The internet is weird.
I've definitely given enough information on this joint for real-life acquaintances to identify me. I've considered going back through and giving people (and pets) code names, so as to make it less obvious, but then I give myself stern pep-talks about being paranoid and how very little on this thing is incriminating anyway. I mean, the time(s?) I posted from work, I did it on a work-sanctioned break. I'm hardly confessing to anything outrageous.
But because I don't tell people about this thing, I don't like sharing shit that I don't know for sure they wouldn't want on here. Some good friends of ours had a baby recently, and there's a neat little story about how they didn't find out the sex of the baby but their toddler kept announcing that it was his baby sister, and turns out he was right. They gave her a really pretty name, too, but I know I'd be kind of pissed if I had a kid and someone plastered their birth information all over the internet without my permission.
I think this is also partly a worry about how to share the awesome news with you dudes when the Kid has her baby - they picked out a name, but it's not mine to share. You know?
How do you all handle revealing shit - especially information that isn't directly related to you - with strangers on the internet?

Because Riley asked.
I commented on 1000 Awesome Things that I decorated my cubicle so I didn't have to stare at tan walls, and someone named Riley asked for a picture of it. It's like this except I took down the string of lights because they were really cheap and burned out in like a week. The weird-looking dangly thing in the middle is a string of seashells.

OH MY GOD ON THE INTERNET
I've been commenting on other blogs lately more than ever before, and linking them back to this thing, because that's what the internets told me to do if I want people to read this thing.
I don't usually comment because I never feel like my comments will get read by the person who posted, or nothing I say is going to make any difference, or I'm too shy (which, if you know me in real life, is a giant joke). So I commented on a post over at Design Mom today, and GABRIELLE COMMENTED BACK AND USED MY NAME.
I know this is the most ridiculous post in the world, but for four seconds, someone famous read something I wrote and responded to it, nicely.
If you want to see it, I'm Commenter No. 2.
